Here are overviews of the Mystic Bridge and Stonington Village Cultural Districts:
The Mystic Bridge Cultural District is anchored by Mystic Seaport Museum to the North, our famous bascule bridge over the Mystic River to the Southwest, and the junction of Denison Avenue (Rt. 27) and Williams Avenue (Rt. 1).
To the Northwest you’ll find this walking tour of the historic Greenmanville area with colonial orchards and pastures, and the ornate stone foundation of the Stillman Mansion.
The Stonington Village Cultural District begins at the entrance to the Alpha Avenue viaduct by the ball fields on Trumbull Avenue. The Velvet Mill neighborhood is at the East end, the Fishing Docks and Memorial to the West. Stonington Point to the South offers vistas of the Atlantic Ocean, Rhode Island, New York and Connecticut.
This walking tour begins and ends at the Lighthouse on Stonington Point, and features the Borough’s many colonial homes and gardens.
