Shoreline Crew is a free weekly newsletter about coastal southeastern Connecticut. Every Thursday, one issue covers New London, Groton, Mystic, and Stonington: the events actually worth your time, where to eat and hear music, and the local stories underneath it all.

That’s the whole mission: surface what matters on the shoreline so people show up for it.

DO THE BOROUGH

274 years since its founding as a modest seafaring village, Stonington Borough now offers eclectic shops, art galleries, boutiques, restaurants and a rich, compelling history. Concerts, lectures, garden tours, parades, and farmer’s markets happen year-round. Museums house intimate collections of maritime artifacts and opportunities to discover the lives of famed sea captains.

In 2015, the Westerly Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce voted to change its name. The newly christened Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce acknowledged the seagoing heritage that defines our region, binds our shared cultures and business interests (yes, that’s Stonington’s fishing fleet on the cover.)

FIND YOUR MYSTIC

Stonington never had its own Chamber of Commerce. That’s partly because the Eastern half of Mystic is actually in Stonington, and the Mystic Chamber has always done a great job of supporting our shared businesses, events, seagoing histories and culture. Now you can navigate this wonderful destination with your phone.
